The Clyde Burgers Truck Concept
New by design. Red by choice.
The Clyde Burgers concept imagines a new 20-foot commercial step-van mobile restaurant built to a proposed Clyde Foods design standard. If the concept were ever built, the platform, kitchen layout, major equipment, technology, service flow, and exterior presentation would follow that common standard.

The Platform
What the truck would be.
The Kitchen A real commercial kitchen on wheels. The working kitchen package is designed around the Clyde Burgers operating model. Final equipment can evolve with the menu, but the current planning package includes: Show kitchen equipment Hide kitchen equipment
Planning Cost
What it takes to put one on the road.
These are Clyde Foods planning estimates for a standardized new truck. Actual costs will vary with the vehicle, equipment, freight, and regulatory requirements.
Planning range including 9% estimated tax: approximately $209,825–$231,625. Working target: $220,725.
†Tax note: 9% is a planning assumption only. Actual sales/use tax, taxable basis, exemptions, registration-related taxes, and local rates vary by location.
Optional Upgrade Clyde XL Move up to a 26-foot long-haul platform with a dedicated sleeper, enclosed restroom, and the full Clyde Burgers kitchen standard preserved. Explore Clyde XL Close Clyde XL Estimated truck total ≈ $290,485 Includes 9% planning tax†
Long-Haul Clyde
More truck. Bedroom. Bathroom. Same kitchen standard.
Clyde XL replaces the standard 20' Ford F-59 platform with a 26' Freightliner M2 extended-cab sleeper platform. The sleeper provides a dedicated bed behind the cab, while the longer commercial body creates room for an enclosed restroom without reducing the Clyde Burgers kitchen below the standard truck.
26' Freightliner M2
- Extended-cab sleeper platform
- 26' commercial body
- Six feet longer than standard
- $139,000 base platform
- +$42,000 vs. Ford F-59
Sleeper
- Full-width bunk / mattress
- Overhead cabinets
- Charging
- Reading light
- Curtain or hard divider
4' Restroom Module
- Toilet
- Small hand sink
- Mirror / storage
- Ventilation
- Dedicated water heater
- Dedicated black tank
Full Clyde Kitchen Preserved
- Approximately 22' remains after restroom zone
- More kitchen/support length than the standard 20' truck
- Standard Clyde Burgers equipment package retained
- Same service and food-safety standards
Clyde Burgers XL planning cost
The 26' body adds six feet over the standard truck. A compact enclosed restroom can occupy roughly four feet of body length, leaving approximately 22 feet for kitchen and support space—still more commercial-body length than the standard 20' Clyde truck.
†Tax note: The 9% planning allowance is recalculated on the entire XL subtotal. Actual sales/use tax, taxable basis, exemptions, registration-related taxes, and local rates vary by location.

Proposed Lighting System
Clyde character. Reviewed before installation.
Clyde Burgers Road Armor explores red accent lighting as a brand concept, not a guaranteed equipment specification. Before installation, the proposed lighting equipment, colors, placement, brightness, operating modes, and controls must be reviewed by a qualified vehicle upfitter, with applicable requirements confirmed with the relevant authorities. Features that cannot meet those requirements will be omitted or redesigned.
Design review required: No unrestricted or while-driving use is promised. The review must address restrictions on installed equipment as well as its use, including red/blue and flashing effects. Parked or private-property use is not assumed to make a configuration permissible. Any necessary restrictions or interlocks must be specified before installation.
Clyde Road Armor planning package
Final suspension, brake, tire, lighting, recovery, and protection hardware remains subject to chassis engineering, payload, clearance, and legal requirements.
*Technology / service note: Certain technology, entertainment, communications, satellite television, connectivity, music, karaoke, and related services may require recurring subscriptions, commercial service plans, licensing fees, permissions, or usage charges billed periodically. Hardware and consumer subscriptions do not by themselves grant public-performance, public-display, or commercial-use rights. Public screenings, music, karaoke, sports programming, fight events, watch parties, and similar entertainment require appropriate commercial service terms, permissions, licenses, or an applicable legal exemption. Ongoing service and licensing costs are not included in the package estimates above.

Not Included Here
The truck is only one part of opening.
This page estimates the mobile restaurant itself. A complete startup plan also has to account for initial food inventory, permits, insurance, deposits, opening payroll, staff training, and working capital.
Those items belong in the launch budget even though they are not part of the truck-build estimate shown here.
