The Clyde Dogs Mobile Restaurant
Built new. Built blue.
A Clyde Dogs location begins with the same new 20-foot commercial mobile-restaurant standard used across Clyde Foods, then receives a kitchen configuration designed specifically for Clyde Dogs: fast service, foot-long dogs, aggressively fried sides, heavy frozen-product staging, and a fry line that is not interested in moderation.
The Platform
What the truck is.
The Frying Department
This is not a fryer. This is a frying station.
Clyde Dogs is deliberately fryer-heavy. The current planning specification uses three full-size high-efficiency fryer vats plus a twin-pot specialty fryer, creating five independently controlled fry zones. The entire line is supported by commercial oil management, frozen staging, heated landing, oversized ventilation, and specialty tools.
Everything Else
The rest of the kitchen is not exactly shy either.
The frying operation is the headline, but Clyde Dogs still needs a complete commercial kitchen around it.
Planning Cost
The frying department costs money.
Clyde Dogs carries a higher planned truck cost than Clyde Burgers because the kitchen is built around a much larger frying operation, additional freezer capacity, commercial oil management, heavier ventilation and suppression, and substantially more specialty fry equipment.
Planning range including 9% estimated tax: approximately $234,350–$256,150. Working target: $245,250.
*Tax note: 9% is a planning assumption only. Actual sales/use tax, taxable basis, exemptions, registration-related taxes, and local rates vary by location.
Optional Clyde XL + Bed / Bath ≈ $315,010 incl. est. tax*
Long-Haul Clyde
More truck. Bedroom. Bathroom. Frying department intact.
Clyde XL replaces the standard 20' Ford F-59 platform with a 26' Freightliner M2 extended-cab sleeper platform. The sleeper provides a dedicated bed behind the cab, while the longer commercial body creates room for an enclosed restroom and still preserves the full Clyde Dogs frying operation.
26' Freightliner M2
- Extended-cab sleeper platform
- 26' commercial body
- Six feet longer than standard
- $139,000 base platform
- +$42,000 vs. Ford F-59
Sleeper
- Full-width bunk / mattress
- Overhead cabinets
- Charging
- Reading light
- Curtain or hard divider
4' Restroom Module
- Toilet
- Small hand sink
- Mirror / storage
- Ventilation
- Dedicated water heater
- Dedicated black tank
Frying Department Preserved
- Approximately 22' remains after restroom zone
- Full five-zone fry line retained
- Freezer staging and oil-management systems retained
- No downgrade from the standard Clyde Dogs kitchen
Clyde Dogs XL planning cost
The extra body length is intended to absorb the enclosed restroom while preserving the premium Clyde Dogs kitchen and five-zone frying operation. Clyde XL is larger because the owner should gain living/comfort capability without giving up the equipment that makes the standard Dogs truck work.
*Tax note: The 9% planning allowance is recalculated on the entire XL subtotal. Actual sales/use tax, taxable basis, exemptions, registration-related taxes, and local rates vary by location.
Not Included Here
The truck is only one part of opening.
This page prices the Clyde Dogs mobile restaurant itself. A full Clyde Foods ownership model would separately account for any franchise or license fee, initial food inventory, permits, insurance, deposits, opening payroll, training, and working capital.
Those numbers will be added to the ownership economics only when they can be presented realistically.
